Security trade shows are back but international travel is still a challenge

The Corona pandemic and related measures and policies from WHO and local governments has resulted in a period of more than a year without almost any trade show, exhibition or other physical event in our industry. Now, finally, we see the return of these events. Most people active in international commerce will be pleased that they will finally be able to see fellow industry members again and get engaged in personal meetings, conversations and gatherings. Sure, we have now all experienced that many types of meetings can be organised online, using Teams, Zoom or other online conference tools. But to establish a solid personal relationship with a potential client, partner or supplier, it is evident that seeing one another in the eye is of the utmost importance.

Security trade shows are back but international travel is still a challenge

Many security events have returned and are scheduled to take place in the original or slightly adjusted form, depending on local Corona related measures that are still in place. We have listed some on our Security Events page. Make sure to submit your event if it is not listed yet.

We were anxiously awaiting the return of trade shows. Sure, our online security trade show is a great way to present your company and products or solutions, but we also know that at times nothing beats meeting people in person. We were looking forward to walk the physical trade show floors of ISC West (19-21 July, 2021, Las Vegas), The Security Event (7-9 September 2021, Birmingham), The International Security Expo (28-29 September 2021, London) and Global Security Exchange (GSX, 27-29 September, Orlando).

The Security Event in Birmingham

Unfortunately it was practically impossible to travel there in person. Flying into the USA is not permitted for European citizens. And even travelling to the United Kingdom from the Netherlands is a struggle with all the regulations related to vaccination, testing and mandatory quarantine. Very disappointing indeed. We do hope to be able to visit and meet our peers from the industry in person soon.

Are you exhibiting at one of the trade shows? Let us help you spread the word and deliver your message to the international community that may be missing out on your product news or other news you are sharing. Feel free to send your press releases and news stories to and we will share them in our groups and in our channels.
