The Cypress Wireless Handheld Reader remotely verifies credentials while linked to an existing live database.
The handheld credential reader wirelessly communicates with its matched base unit, which is connected to the access control panel. During installation, the handheld reader unit can be set up to operate a relay, allowing the user to touch a button to perform a function such as opening a door or gate, or triggering a duress notification.
HID® iClass SE® handheld reader kits are dual frequency (13.56 MHz/125 kHz) and are available in these configurations:
- HHR-3156 (with gate selection feature)
- HHR-3166 (single gate; no gate-selection feature)
- HHR-3266 (single gate; 2-reader kit)
Typical handheld wireless reader range without repeaters, depending on environment:
- Indoor: 150 ft. / 45.7 m
- Outdoor: 500 ft. / 152.4 m
