Business Development Manager At KETS we’re passionate about solving real world security problems using the unique advantages of quantum technologies. With our unique expertise, we have crammed the power of quantum photonics into our chip-based platform allowing quantum security to become practical for the first time. Position: Business Development Manager Location: Bristol Job type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: 40k to 50k per annum About the role: As a BD Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new sales and growth opportunities, identifying new product or service offerings, and supporting the creation of marketing, customer, and demo materials. As we continue to scale, we anticipate the growth of the wider BD, Marketing and Sales Team but initially this will be a standalone role reporting to the CEO (short-medium team) until a dedicated BD, Marketing and Sales Team Board-level appointment is in place.

As such, we are looking for a BD specialist who has an appreciation for the full sales lifecycle and thrives in a start-up culture with lots of autonomy and the challenge of pivoting when roadmaps shift. Responsibilities: – Oversee all pre-sales account management and continuous customer engagement to develop and validate products, use-cases, markets, and roadmaps with customers and develop KETS’ internal market research – Manage lead generation, developing a network of potential sales contacts, and mapping of key stakeholders/decision makers in potential customer organisations – Actively support the creation of marketing, customer, and demo materials – Capture and develop demo and field trial requirements – Attend exhibitions and tradeshows for company promotion demonstrating KETS’ products – Manage the sales cycle including all associated process and documentation – Write effective sales bids/tenders/proposals – Negotiate demo, trial, development, and sales contracts – Analyse the market to inform the strategic decision making of the BD Team, i. e. refining current markets; identifying new markets, new products or service offerings, and new prospective clients; and assessing overall market size About you: – Previous business development experience ideally within cyber security/telecommunications and/or start-up or scale up organisations – The ability to establish a BD function, creating clear and effective sales material and all associated processes and documentation – Experience of taking a first/new product to market with an emphasis on developing and rapidly iterating customer propositions with proof of concepts and demos – Experience performing market research and using market analysis to identify, appraise, and develop new business opportunities – Account management experience – Experience of attending exhibitions, conferences and roadshows for company promotion and lead generation – Strategic thinker, the ability to make connections and identify key customer needs and new potential products – Experience or a solid understanding of sales/marketing – Resilient with the ability to pivot and manage change effectively – Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication (verbal and active listening) skills – Ability to develop a strong network of contacts – Good project management, teamwork, analysis, planning & organisational skills – Excellent stakeholder management – Self-motivated and proactive – Adaptable with good influencing skills You may have experience of the following: Business Development Manager, Business Development Management, Business Development, BDM, Business Development Executive, Sales Manager, Sales Executive, Account Manager, Account Management, Key Account Manager, Territory Sales, Regional Sales, New Business, New Business Sales, etc.
